About Chet

A Few Words

About Chet

Chet was a very positive and happy man. He was the type of person that knew what he wanted out of life and when necessary, he just went out and pursued it. He loved his wife Jeanne and his sons (Brian & Joshua) dearly.  At the end, he said he just wanted to be with the people he loved most. That tells you who he was right there.  Chet was more than a devoted husband and father. He was also a dear friend to many (too many to name them all), but one man was his very dearest and best friend in the world (Alan.)

Besides his family, Chet was an avid fan of Hockey, the Indiana Hoosiers, and Indy Car Racing.  The man knew more about all things Indy 500 related than anyone I have ever known. The stories our family has of the days at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway when Chet was an employee there, are priceless. To his very last day on earth, Chet was extremely proud to have been such an important part of helping to get the South Stars High School Hockey team reestablished during the early 90’s.  He never imagined it would take off and become what it has become 30 plus years later.

Chet also loved food. When he moved to Mississippi, he and Jeanne went to every single seafood restaurant within a 4-hour radius and tried the oysters at each place.  It seemed like every picture had Chet with a huge plate of oysters and an even bigger smile on his face.
